House Rules

Welcome to Provence!

We are so looking forward to sharing this beautiful slice of the world with you. Our farmhouse stay is meant to be easy, restorative, and full of joy—with just enough structure to help everything flow smoothly for our group.

To make sure expectations are clear and everyone can relax, here are a few helpful things to note:

🍽️ Meals & Food

We’ll have four key meals booked at restaurants during our stay—details to come!

Outside of those, each family will be responsible for their own meals. With a group as wonderfully diverse as ours (vegan, vegetarian, no fish, etc.), it makes the most sense for everyone to handle their own food preferences.

That said, Martin and I are happy to shop together at local markets and cook together casually. Just know that we’re not acting as host chefs—we did that last summer for family and barely sat down the entire trip. This time, we’re keeping things easy, shared, and low-stress.

The kitchen is well-stocked, and you're welcome to use everything. Pitch in as you like, and enjoy the bounty of Provence!

🍷 Dining Out

We’ll be making restaurant reservations in advance (many great spots are already booking up!). If you'd like to opt in to any group meals out, please let me know by May 15th so we can confirm the numbers.

Since we’re a larger group, some restaurants may require multiple tables and often have cancellation fees, so changes after booking may not be possible. Thanks in advance for understanding.

🏡 House Rhythm & Flow

  • No obligations. Participate in as much—or as little—as you'd like. Sleep in, wander off, do your thing.

  • Clean up after yourself. Please don’t leave plates, cups, or personal things lying around.

  • If you break something, no worries—just let us know and plan to replace it or offer to cover the cost.

  • Caretakers live on-site. They help keep the property beautiful, and you may see them around occasionally.

  • Check-out/Check-in Note (June 1): One family will leave and another arrive on June 1. Please have your rooms packed up by 1pm so the caretaker can clean and change linens before the next guests arrive. Thank you!

🥕 Garden Goodness

We’re welcome to forage in the vegetable garden and use anything we harvest to cook with—such a gift! Just please be extra gentle with the plants and only take what you’ll use. Let’s leave everything better than we found it.

🐾 Dog Rules
(She’s Sweet But Sensitive)

  • Please don’t pick Birdie up or approach too suddenly with hands extended to pet her —she startles easily and may defend herself if she feels scared. Please approach her with hands open and lowered and wait for her to show interest.

  • Don’t let her off the property and please mindfull when driving that she may be running lose.

  • No feeding unless you check with us first.

Thank you for being kind and gentle with her—we want her to enjoy the time too.

🏊‍♀️ Pool Vibes

  • No glass near the pool—plastic only, please.

  • No diving or running.

  • Please supervise children carefully

  • And just a general vibe note: please avoid loud screaming or yelling—let’s keep the energy calm and restorative for everyone.

We’re so happy you’ll be here with us. This trip is about savoring simple pleasures, connecting when it feels right, and letting go of any pressure to “perform” as a guest or host. If we all respect each other and the space, it’ll be magic.
